I TEACH.

WHAT'S YOUR SUPERPOWER?

The Learning Space only hires teachers!  Other tutoring centers will hire just about anyone.  We believe in providing the best quality of education taught by only the best.  Our teachers are not only credentialed, but also trained in our method of instruction.  They love what they do and it shows.

Sabrina Soper

Picture
Sabrina Soper is the founder of The Learning Space.  She noticed a need for quality tutoring for elementary students in her area.  After fine tuning her skills for almost a decade, and years of planning The Learning Space was born.

Sabrina graduated with multiple honors from UCLA, and went on to receive her teaching credential in elementary education.  Sabrina began tutoring and found that she could really connect with her students on a much deeper level.  She loves inspiring kids to discover their confidence.  Educating to her is all about the individual and making strong connections.

Sabrina has  a feisty five-year-old daughter, named Sienna, and a precious baby girl named Sloane.  When she isn't tutoring, she loves being involved in her preschool, hanging around Lafayette, and fixing up a house with a list of unending projects.

She is in the process of hatching lots of plans for what she wants The Learning Space to become.

Here, she minored in Montessori Thought and Justice & Community while majoring in Liberal & Civic Studies. After earning her Bachelor’s, Katie continued at SMC for her CA Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, two Montessori teaching credentials and her Master’s in Education.

Katie has taught as an elementary school teacher for five years and is entering her fourth year teaching fourth, fifth and sixth graders at Eagle Peak Montessori School, a public charter Montessori school in Walnut Creek. She has also worked in summer camps for twelve years, including seven years at Camp Awesome, which is housed at the Lafayette Community Center, and four as camp director.

When Katie is not busy working with young people, you can find her spending time with her fiancé, walking her dog, cooking, traveling, camping, or volunteering with any of her favorite non-profits.
